"I will extend peace to you like a river.  As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you and you will be comforted over Jerusalem.  When you see this your heart will rejoice and you will flourish like grass" (Isaiah 66:12-14 NIV)

Revive. When someone says that word, I think of a wilted plant. Usually, the dirt is very dry. The poor thing is on its way out! Timely watering can turn things around and bring it back to life. This is one of the beautiful things about God. With Him and us, it is never too late. Often, we are like this plant. Our spiritual life is dry; we are wilted and lifeless. We get smothered by the stress and anxiety of our life and the world. We have a hard time releasing things to God. Either it’s hard to fully trust Him, or else we may not know how to actually let go. This verse says that we will rejoice and flourish when we see His comfort and how he extends peace to us. When a person is revived, they grow!

God is constant; he never changes. That is one of the things I love about Him. He is always ready to give peace and comfort. We must accept His comfort, allow Him in and trust Him enough to release our worries to Him. He will not drop the ball on something. His timing is definitely his own, but it is much better than ours because God sees the entire picture. Including (but not limited to) the future! Today shake off the things that are bringing you down. Give it to God; He is entirely trustworthy! Trust his care, comfort and peace and be revived!

Today ask: God, how I can release my cares to you today and be revived?
